First Group Training Session!

This morning was the first of MANY weekly training sessions for the AIDS marathon training program! I woke up at 5:30am (it's saturday...uff), and drove to the meeting place at santa monica high school. This training session was an easy 3-mile jog to determine our pace groups. It was a overcast but beautiful mornign in santa monica and I really enjoyed meeting some of the other program participants and smelling the salty ocean air.

I've decided to keep this blog as a sort of training log as I embark on the exciting process of training for my first marathon. I plan to write in it weekly, after the group training session on saturdays and each entry will include a fact about HIV/AIDS (the cause i'm raisng money for), and my fundraising total to date!

AIDS FACT:
Approximately 700,000 to 900,000 Americans are currently infected with HIV. With 40,000 new infections each year, that is one new infection every 13 minutes.

FUNDRAISING TOTAL TO DATE:
$430 ($2570 still to raise- I need your help!)
