Six before the 4th!
Today was our six-mile run!
Surprisingly, almost the whole pace group (5 out of 8) was there despite the fact that it's almost the 4th of July. It was a cool and overcast morning in Santa Monica, perfect weather for the run. It's exciting to see our mileage building up, one mile at a time.
I find myself looking forward to the group runs more than any other event in my week. The program representatives and coaches make us aware of how much the money we're raising is helping people living with AIDS, for example APLA helps people with HIV/ AIDS get insurance, dental care, or find housing- activities that I had never considered that are made incredibly difficult following an AIDS diagnosis.
In addition, the people in my pace group are really fun, so the miles seem to fly by! In fact, I can see why people get addicted to running- I think I’m getting addicted myself!
The Running Group:

Brent, Megan, Me, Sally, and Camilla
AIDS Fact:
African American and Hispanic women together account for more than 77% of AIDS cases reported among women, yet represent less than one-fourth of the total female population in the U.S.
FUNDRAISING TOTAL TO DATE:
$470.00 ($2,530 still to raise)
I need your help; Please give money to help this amazing organization on my behalf:
